18th April 2015

I did a doodle today after a fun (and slightly exhausting) off-roading on the bike with Little One. Weeeeeeeeeeee and she was off, no pedals, but balance bike in full thrust mode as she jumped and bumped and wizzed through the woods, not a care in the world.

Can't beat it!

17th April 2015

I did a doodle today for this week's #colour_collective, Cobalt Turquoise. I love this colour.

So my imagination took a little trip to the aquarium, remembering my visits to Sea World San Diego and one of my favourite animals. The majestic polar bear.

The image I have created sits well with my blog on Captivity v captivation. Have a little look >

So here is my window in to the deep.

16th April 2015

I did a doodle today because the school application results have come out and people up and down the country are finding out if their little ones have got in to the schools that the parents have chosen. Numbers and intake are high this year it seems, so it stands to reason that there will be a lot of disappointed people, but an awful lot of thrilled parents too.

This is a strange time. Our little ones are still so young, only four, with their whole lives ahead of them. They are changing daily and developing new strengths and skills all the time. Will my child be socially gregarious or the shy-retiring type? Will my child be a drama queen or a techno-wizz? Will my child captain the school sports teams or be the cheerleader with the best moves? We can guess at some of these, but there is still so much we don't know about them yet.

Their personalities are, of course, strong already, but they have so much changing, developing and growing to do still and within totally new environments. Their schooling will shape them massively, along with the family environment. We as parents have less control on what goes on in the classroom and on the playgound, but we are able to make some choices regarding their education. Sadly, we cannot all get what we want, but we should also never have to compromise on what we feel is best for our children.

Nail biting times.

15th April 2015

I did a doodle today because I was forced to eat goat stew.

Well, forced may be a bit of an exaggeration, and 'eat' may not be the whole truth either... In fact, imaginary naughty me was made to eat imaginary goat stew out of mini plastic pink bowls. Now that makes much more sense.

I had been cast in the great play of 'imagination'. The sun is out, so we are out in the garden and all the contents of the Wendy-house are strewn across the lawn as my daughter cackles an evil witches laugh and stirs a cauldron (black dustbin) of goat stew (water and dead leaves).

There is nothing better than getting wrapped up in child's play and immersing yourself in the endless possibilities of imagination. Even if you do end up with goat stew!

14th April 2015

I did a doodle today after reading a sad post on Facebook, about a rider who lost her horse after it was struck by a car going too fast round country lanes. She was understandably deeply distraught and extremely angry, one minute she was out on her beloved friend enjoying the spring air and the next she was holding her dying horse in her arms.

As a horse lover myself, my heart went out to her. I worked at a stables where an almost identical incident occurred and a beautiful creature never returned to her stable. So sad and so pointless.

13th April 2015

I did a doodle today to cheer   H.A.P.P.Y   I.C.K.L.E    M.O.N.D.A.Y.

It's that time of the week when we out some cuteness on the unsuspecting blogworld and strive to put a little smirk or a flicker of a smile on everyone's faces. So, here are some ickle cheer-leading elephants. Of course.

Happy #IckleMonday everyone.

12th April 2015

I did a doodle today and transformed one of my daughter's works of art (from her first session playing with Adobe Illustrator). I have one more of her creations to transform... shall leave that one till next week.

So here we go. The top picture is my daughter's candy floss creation, followed by my transformation...
