I did a doodle today under the influence of Valentines Day. Obvious? Yes. Inspiring? Yes. Simple, colourful and beautiful. Love.

I did a doodle today as part of the #colour_collective. This week's colour was powder blue. So after dismissing all the baby related ideas that popped into my head, I was inspired by the spring holiday break I have just booked by the seaside. Wales' coastline is calling and I have responded with booking made and deposit paid. So here is my little seaside seafront illustration... always love how just changing some of the colours can give a place a whole different look and feel.

I did a doodle today inspired by an impromptu dog walk with a friend and her dog this morning. The two dogs belted and bounded around in the mud, carefree and happy. So I have stared work on some small abstracts to capture those flash moments of true movement and personality you can get from dogs. These are quick graphic colour and line dumps, but the two posted here are meant to envoke a feeling of a tussle between two dogs and the other is a simple beaming canine smile.

I did a doodle today because my house smells of horses. Not the muck heap aroma of the back of stable yards, but that tack room smell of horse hair, worn horse blankets and saddles. That smell that reminds you of a childhood spent riding and messing around at stables.

So why does my house smell like this? An early birthday present of a beautiful candle with the aroma of 'horse neck'. Strangely alluring and beautiful a fragrance (believe it or not!). So in honour of the smell, here is my five (yes five) minute sketch...

I did a doodle today as the final part of my water lily graphics, that will (I hope) be transformed into beautiful painted canvases. Though I have made some good headway in researching fabric printing, and have got quite excited by this idea.

Today I turned my sights on pond life, how the lily-pads carpet the pond so the reflections in the water are stifled, hidden from view, with just the changing colours of the sky showing. Crowded but simple.

I did a doodle today as I'm still on my water lily canvas pre-work-ups! I am getting very inspired and am now opening up my thoughts to fabrics too... the ripples of water sync so perfectly with the movement of water. So today I took a different look at the water lilies, working on lilyscapes that had no reeds, but instead made up a vast field of pink and green, barely noticing the water beneath. So beautiful to see that I only hope I can end up doing them justice in the artworks.

So here are the doodles today. Which do you prefer?

I did a doodle today that was quick, oh so quick, and is the result of one too many breakfast martinis last night. That age-old 'seems such a good idea at the time' as always turns in to 'why o why did I drink that'. So, I am too tired and far too jaded to be very creative. Instead, I'm off to bed.

Night Night.
